Hi,

Below is my server configuration pls check & reply it will support Exchange 2007

IBM X3400, Dual core Intel Xeon 1.86Ghz 4M L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB, 2GB PC2-5300 667Mhz memory, 146GB 10k rpm hot swap SAS HDD, RPS

I am totally new for exchange but before few days I have installed exchange 2003 & configured, it is working in LAN (OWA, Outlook).

But now I am little confused because of exchange 2007 so guide me which one I have to implement for my company,

My Domain Controller & ADS both are installed in another server (Config as below)

IBM x226/Xeon 3.0GHz with EM64T Technology / 800Mhz FSB/ 1 GB ECC DDR SDRAM/ 73GB Hot Swap HDD SCSI Controller / Gigabit Ethernet / Dual Redundant power supplies(2*514)

Also let me know what is the difference between 2003 & 2007, which is more easy & reliable.

hi,

I can't give 100% satisfied information what you need but i can drive you to some accurate place where it will help you based on your requirement

http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/general/0,295582,sid43_gci1229130,00.html

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2007/evaluate/sysreqs.mspx

Comparison between exchange 2003 and 2007, i would suggest that 2007 is best because it has came up with all the latest technologies need. But at the same time i am very comfortable with exchange 2003 because i am currently working on it.
For best client access and best GUI exchange 2007 and as a system administrator they have divided the roles which will be easy to trace the issue.

Outlook 2003 is fine.  In fact, so is Outlook 2002.  For the list of supported clients, see this link:

if you have outlook 2003, you will not get some features
and if you have outlook 2007 you can get all the features

but keep in mind if you are installing exchange 2007 you need to work hard then what you are suppose to do with exchange 2003 because architechture is totally different. and commandshell is one more value add for your learning skill
