Wrong Email Address in User Mailbox (Full Version)

I have some mailboxes that have the wrong email address for the user.  I go into the mailbox properties for the use and I add another email address, but I cannot delete the wrong one until I promote the new one.  I've searched and cannot find how to do this.  Any suggestions?

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here as it seems, from what you describe, that things are working ok. However if you are having difficulty changing changing a users SMTP address have you unchecked the box labelled "Automatically update email addresses based on email address policy"?

No, I have not unchecked that box, but I will and try again.
