Hi, im in some serious trouble.  I have been using exchange 2007 in a test enviroment for a couple months now, So now I am moving our school over to a live 2007 server. Well the old exchange 2000 server was corrupted so I had to remove that manually from AD and sites and services.
anyways,  when I try to do a prepAD i get "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object"   both in the gui and the cmd line switch.

any help would be great

I assume you mean your old 2000 DC you removed from Sites and Services, not an Exchange 2000 server.  Make sure you properly do a metadata cleanup to remove any 2000 DC residue.

Afterwards, try doing your preparead again and see if it works.  If not, try doing a DCDiag /fix and then a DCDiag to see if it can help you find your issue.

Is the DC that holds your Schema Master FSMO Role online?  If so, ensure that you are running the PrepareAD command in the same domain that holds this FSMO role.
