I have MS Exchange 03 up and running strong in a network.  Can i add a MS Exchange 07 server to this same network.  The exchange 07 server will have nothing to do with the 03.  It will basically be a place for me to learn.

Hiya chap, personally I would strongly recommend that until you are ready to place Exchange 2007 into production you should NOT add an Exchange 2007 into production Exchange 2003 domain.

Exchange 2003 and 2007 will co-exist, however it is designed for migration scenarios, not testing. There are many reasons for this - but do you have the resources to construct a test lab?

Cheers

A

Thanks for the reply.  I was hoping to use the same network only because that network has a dev server on it and i could create some VM's to create my enviorement.  I will need to put it on a different network.  Is it possible to be on the same physical network with a differnt IP scheme.  In other words, use all the hubs and switches that my production network uses, yet have a different IP's (10.0.1.x for production and 192.168.1.x) for my testing network.

Hiya chap - yes, however,

You must ensure that the domain that the Exchange 2007 server belongs to a different domain, sharing a subnet is ok, but the Forest and Domain should be different and use a different DNS name space.
