Hi,
I really need some suggestions for installing Exchange 2007 Server.
In a rather small environment with approximately 50 clients I have 2 servers for the most basic setup – my idea as follows;

Server at LAN-side; Mailbox role + Hub Transport.
Server at DMZ-side; Client Access (Outlook, OWA and ActiveSync) + Edge Transport.
Unified Messaging won’t be installed at this time.
Is this a good setup? Or should Client Access be installed at LAN-side (I don’t like to open up ports to that server DMZ/Internet segment.
Does the server at LAN-side-server need to be an AD-member?

Any suggestions?
Best regards,
joho

hi,
I have not much exposure to exchange 2007 but if i think logically based on my experience with exchange and other resources from google i guess it will be better idea to keep the CAS in the LAN itself. It is something which is directly interacting with mailbox server i.e my critical database and i can't keep it in my DMZ zone rather then this  i will keep ISA and forward request to CAS. This CAS is not only FE but also have many other feature.

If you go through the below link may be can u can have better taught what i have ryt now
