Hello figured out why active sync was not working...

direct connect and it worked ... with firewall it did not...

Checked microsoft and they say they need all these
( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259369 )
----
ActiveSync 4.x requires the following Winsock Transmission Control Protocols (TCP) to be available:
990 (RAPI)
999 (Status)
5721 (DTPT)
5678 (Legacy Replication)
5679 (Handshake & Legacy Replication)
26675 (Airsync)
----

are all of them needed?

thanks in advance

Jeepers no. You are looking at the workstation cabled article. If you're doing this over the wire or through the corporate firewall all you need is TCP 443 (HTTPS). Nothing else.

Ok for those of you who still have not placed activesync 4.5 working on your pda/smartphones to connect to your exchange 2003 server. Atention this is for none ssl conections and a connection from the internet to your exchange 2003 server. (Wireless or net)

First off: do method 2 of this article on exchange server.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379

Atention if you have a firewall from the wan 2 lan you need port forwarding of 990 to your exchange server, dont forget to configure nat part also.

After that place the ip of your router or whatever fixe ip you have to conect to your server, login, password, domain.

And that is it.

The port 443 is for Web conection of activesync which in my opinion isnt any good and not sure AS 4.5 works with Web access.
This version is direct connection to exchange server via active sync which I think is much better, I only tested with AS 4.5 (most recent)

Later hope it helps.
Any comments or errors plz post.
