A customer running exchange on an SBS 2003 server would like to use the company logo shown on their website as a signature when sending emails. Some use Outlook 2000, and some use Outlook 2003. I hae added the logo to each account individualy, but the logo often appears as a red cross.

Can anybody explain how to fix this?

The logo appearing as a red x generally means that whoever did the sending has specified a link to their own pc rather than dropping the image in.

Best thing for you in this case is www.exclaimer.com which will append the message and some other shiny standardisation at the gateway rather than internally. You can, should you so choose, have a different message for emails flying around internally.

Take a look.

I was under the impression that this could be achieved using software already installed (i.e SBS server 2003 and Office 2000/2003).

Any ideas?

I used html to show the company logo hosted on a website in the signature. Keeps the message size down.

Thanks for the advice.

Do you know if this works for Outlook 2000 as well as newer versions?

you many also want to check out these links on how to add a disclaimer to all your outbound smtp traffic.

or

Also if you have a spam blocking utility there may be some settings there to add discliamers  here is a link to the compare chart and you will see which ones have disclaimers.
