Prior to your post, we did try to create a new OAB, but we didn't put it to use. I've done the steps you suggested.

When I create the new OAB, what distribution method do I use (PF or Web-Based, or both). I selected both.

I will give it 24 hours to work out any delays, and tommorrow will download from my client while in Cached Mode. I'll post the result here.

Just wanted to update that this issue was down to the service pack on the client's machines - Updated to SP2 andi it worked fine.
Also needed to make sure that the autodiscover service worked externally.

Hi,

I have also had this problem for months and only just found some time to have a proper look and fix it. Heres what i did to fix it.

STEP 1
Exchange management console
Organization configuration/mailbox

Created a new offline address list & set as default
Deleted default offline address list
Waited couple of minutes
Created a new default offline address list
Set as default
Deleted temp offine address list

STEP 2

Exchange 2007

1.

In the Exchange Management Console, expand Server Configuration, and then click Mailbox.

2.

In the Database Management window, right-click Properties on the mailbox store.

3.

Click the Client Settings tab, click Browse, and then click the appropriate offline address book.

4.

Click OK two times.

STEP3
Then used Exchange management shell and typed

Update-offlineaddressbook –identity “default offline address list”

STEP4
Then closed outlook on a pc with problem and then redownloaded the address book
i.e send and receive address book

Step5
Checked for missing users in GAL

Cheers

Nat

Get PSS on this issue. They would be able to fix this out. Don't forget to post the solution hereafter.

I think we finally fixed the issue. My solution was posted on page 2 by tturner, Create a new OAB, include the global address list, I picked both web and PF distribution. Set this new OAB as the default (as his instructions say).. I did have to wait a few days it seemed.

I can go Tools -> Send Recv -> Download Address Book, no errors. When I browse the Global Address list, new users and changes to old users show up. Perfect!!

BUT This seems to have spawned a new problem, with our Exchange Web Access.. When Users log into our Web Access, They compose a new email, click the TO: button, and the address list opens. At the very top, is my new OAB that I created above.. and there are no users listed in the list. If I scroll down to All Users, I can see all of the users listed there, and the same if I click Default Global Address List.     That is kind of crazy! Any suggestions to get my Web Access back on track?
