When does the Exchange 2007 environment send encrypted mail by default?
Is it inside the Organization? Between Hubtransport servers and or between sites?

If my Organization sends an outbound mail to another Exchange 2007 organization does it encrypt the message? Read that one some presentation slides long time ago and that might have changed?

One might still have to configure this between different Exchange 2007 organizations?

by default it is NOT the e-mail that is encrypted.

It is the data transmission that is encrypted to TLS. This happens by default between your Hub Transport and Edge Transport and than between the Edge Transport any any other partner or specific mail server you have set up.

However you could do this with any IIS SMTP or Exchange 2003 also... its just bog standard TLS Security that is built into most SMTP Engines today.
