mbaker666 -> Routing Group Connector problems (16.Nov.2007 12:35:56 PM)

Hi All,

Hope someone can help!...

I have begain installation of exchange 2007 into an existing 2003 environment and created routing group connector between my existing server and the new server. i can transfer mailboxes between these servers no problem and also send mail from within each server but i find i cannot get mail to cross the routing group connector i created.

The status of the new server from within exchange system manager on the old server says 'Unreachable'

i have tried removing and recreating the routing group which did not help.

any idea's?

thanks in advance!

Have you tried creating a new routing group connector through EMS and ensuring that the -bidirectional switch is at the end.

You may have already tried this, but if not here is the command

New-RoutingGroupConnector -name "<connector name>" -SourceTransportServers "<exchange2007 server>" -TargetTarnsportServers "<Exchange2003 server>" -cost100 -bidirectional $true -PublicFolderReferralsEnabled $true

Did you ever resolve this issue?  We are having the same problem.

You cannot use the legacy exchange 2003 system manager to manage exchange 2007. If you look under monitoring in the ESM any exchange 2007 servers will always show as unavailable or unreachable.

When you send an email between the servers, what happens? Do you get an NDR? Are the messagings getting stuck in the queue or immediately getting bounced back?
