fullman -> Installer Broken Images, Errors, Unable to Start Installation (22.Nov.2007 3:19:09 PM)

Greetings and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I have a problem installing (or trying to) Exchange 2007... when I run the setup, this is the screen that greets me.

Now, when I hover over any of the links on the right (like to Install Exchange), I get a JS error...

If I continue hitting enter to bypass the 3-5 warnings and then click on the link, there's a grey flash (as if the window tries to go to the next screen) but I'm immediately returned to the initial setup screen. At this point, I can't continue to the installation.

I've installed any patches and made sure I'm up to date, and this is a brand new server. The image I'm using is an ISO that we just downloaded from MS' Open License servers today.

Any ideas as to how I can get this installation to run correctly or somehow initiatite the installation another way, I'm open to suggestions.

I remember something like this happening when we installed Exchange 2003 a while ago and even SQL 2005 on another server, but even with the JS errors and missing images, we were always able to continue.

TIA for any assistance!

Thinking out loud - do you have .Net 2.0 installed with all the patches and within WIndows Components is IE Enchanced Security Config unticked

Hiya Do you have the IE enhanced security configuration installed?
(Add remove programs->Windows Components)

Cheers

.NET 2.0 is installed, I even did a repair, no effect.

IE Enhanced Security Configuration is disabled.

Finally in IE Security settings try and lower the security for Trusted and Local Intranet to the LOW. Also within Trusted add the path of the root of the Exchange installation of file:\\localserver\share

If its a DVD drive simply share it first and than add it into IE.

Ok, just following up on this...

It wasn't IE's security settings or zones, it was mounting and running the image itself.

I used another program (PowerISO) to extract the image to a folder on my drive and from that the installation ran as expected...

Though now there's another issue which I'll post another thread about to close this one out.

Thanks for your help everyone!
