jazior -> RPC over HTTP, 403.6 Error (28.Nov.2007 11:14:50 AM)

We have an Exchange 2003 SBS box... I enabled RPC over HTTP using various articles. When Outlook 2003 or 2007 connect to Exchange outside the network, we constantly receive a Username/Password prompt and are never able to actually get through to Exchange. If we VPN into the network then RPC over HTTP works fine. We are receiving a 403.6 error according to the IIS logs. The RPC folder on the default website has 2 ALLOW ip addresses, 10.10.1.45 (255.255.255.0) and 127.0.0.1. I tried to remove these IP restrictions with no luck to solving the problem so I put them back. The client machines we are testing on have the CA certificate in their trusted CA folder. Any ideas? Microsoft is stumped.

Thanks,
Chase

If you using RPC over HTTP on server 2003, you "MUST" apply a commerical certificate for exchange. If you using build in (self-signed) certificate. it WILL NEVER work.
