did you update the exchange schema? I know it's a stupid question but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to install exchange if you didn't. also, did you try deleting the store and recreate it?

Hiya mate I have pinged you another mail, I have found something in the Setup Logs (that I will post in a bit) - can you attempt to start your MSExchangeIs service - can you post the error message that it gives, and post the Application Event Entry for the failure. Cheers A

Hyia mate some more information for you - edited from a TechNet post One possible error code you may receive is IMAIL_E_CODE_PAGE_CONVERSION (0x80040c07). If this error code occurs, the problem is likely to be that the code pages required for conversion are missing, which could mean that the pages are corrupt or inadvertently uninstalled. If this is the case, the fix is to reinstall the code pages for US ASCII (20127) and Latin 1 (1252). To do this, in Control Panel¸ open Regional and Language Options, select the Advanced tab, and make sure 20127 and 1252 are selected. can you let me know? cheers A

Excellent - I am pleased - have a good one yourself. - Sorry every one; When I was looking at Peters Setup logs I was seeing the following error: [11/30/2007 10:39:20 AM] [2] The maximum wait for the operation is set to 'unlimited'. [11/30/2007 10:39:20 AM] [2] Service checkpoint has progressed. Previous checkpoint='0' - Current checkpoint='1'. [11/30/2007 10:39:20 AM] [2] Will wait '10000' milliseconds for the service 'MSExchangeIS' to reach status 'Running'. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [2] Service 'MSExchangeIS' failed to reach status 'Running' on this server after waiting for '10000' milliseconds. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [2] Service 'MSExchangeIS' failed to start. Check the event log for possible reasons for the service start failure. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [2] [ERROR] Unexpected Error [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [2] [ERROR] Service 'MSExchangeIS' failed to start. Check the event log for possible reasons for the service start failure. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [2] Ending processing. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [1] The following 1 error(s) occurred during task execution: [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [1] 0. ErrorRecord: Service 'MSExchangeIS' failed to start. Check the event log for possible reasons for the service start failure. [11/30/2007 10:39:30 AM] [1] 0. ErrorRecord: Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.ServiceFailedToStartException: Service 'MSExchangeIS' failed to start. This was followed by setup tring to create and mount the databases - which could not happen as the IS was not running. I asked Peter to send over the BPA xml logs so I could have a look at them and they suggested looking at the knowledge base article that I posted previously (this didn't work). I then asked Peter to send over his MSExchangeIS event logs only - which revealed the following error with the content engine: 0x80040c07 - now by chance I had seen this in my test lab yesterday and when I was looking for a solution I found the following on TechNet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb217712.aspx I hope that this helps Cheers A
