Hi,

My setup: Exchange 2007 SP1 with OWA.

In OWA there is a tab "Documents" and if clicked it asks for Sharepoint services or Windows fileshare.
Is it possible to configure OWA to be able to access a normal file folder and if so how?

Regards,
Ase

It is called "Direct File Access"
The topic is fully covered in the online help. You can see how to configure it and what security settings you should check and how to deny access to servers that you don't want accessed.

All this is read only. You can access anything (that an administrator allows access to) but nothing is writable.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply,
I was able to get this to work. I have missed the "allowed servers" tab in the Exchange MMC.
I run this OWA only thrue SSL (only port 443 open in the firewall) and directory share only for Domain users.
- On a security side, is this dangerous (the directorys was shared like this locally already before)?
- Is there fixes or third party products to allow both read & write of files (copy/paste)?

Regards,
Ase
