Pop Accounts without AD Account - 18.Dec.2007 7:46:22 AM

I have some remote salespeople who do not have an AD account because they never need to logon to our network. They have POP account with our email provider and they use our email provider's web interface which works fine. I am having issues where an AD user will send an email to some other AD users AND also the remote sales people. When they do this, the email gets returned with the following error:
#550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found ##

If I send an email to JUST the remote person it seems to go through. Seems like Exchange is thinking the user should be local AD user and not understanding that they are external.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Have you setup the remote sales folks as an Exchange mail contact inside of AD?

If not, do so - they will show up in the GAL just like a regular user and be addressable as such.  In fact, clients can then send email to remotesalesguay@yourdomain.com and have it show up in the remote pop account and they will not know the difference.  Helps your branding stay consistent.
