Hi All, I've recently changed ISP and need some help reconfiguring my SMTP configuration. Emails are currently received into my SMTP server on my exchange box (on standard port 25). I need to relay my outgoing SMTP traffic via an external SMTP server on port 26. Up till now, I used an SMTP connector when I used to relay my SMTP traffic on port 25 but I need to change it so I receive incoming SMTP traffic on standard port 25 but all outbound SMTP traffic is relayed through a smarthost on port 26. Any ideas?

You will need two SMTP virtual servers. One on port 25 and one on port 26. Then you can set the SMTP connectors are appropriate. Create the SMTP virtual servers through ESM. Simon.

I think I've tried this already. 2 questions though about this. 1). Can I try this solution when only having 1 Network Card and IP 2). How can I tell Exchange which SMTP virtual server to use as the outbound server?

It doesn't matter that you only have one NIC and one IP address. If you are getting an error when you create the SMTP Virtual server, you need to change the existing SMTP virtual server to use the specific IP address, not "all unassigned". Then you should be able to create the second SMTP virtual server without any issues. if you continue to get problems, then add a second temporary IP address to the NIC - you can have as many as you want - and use that to create the SMTP VS. After setting it up, change the port first, click apply, then the IP address, apply again. As for telling Exchange what to use, set that on the SMTP connector. Simon.
