How come I can't see the reply/reply all/forward buttons in the OWA toolbar in my public folder?

I've done the registry fix and mail enabled it in System manager.

Hiya Wizzler could you provide a little more information.
The general functionality of Public Folders in Exchange 2003 OWA is pretty basic - for example you cannot move items from your mailbox to PF via the OWA interface - your could for example forward an item from your mailbox to a mail enabled public folder - but under OWA you will not be able to send that on-wards.

Let us know

Cheers

At my work i've got the option to send from my public folder directly while on my own exchange server I can't.

Hiya Wizzler - thanks for clarifying.
In work do you use a Front End / Backend configuration.
My understanding is that even if the following Registry Key is added to a backend server:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWeb\OWA

Reg_DWORD maxPFReplyForwardSize

It will not work unless you are using a FES scenario.

Cheers

At the time I only have one server working as the domain controller, exchange etc...

Tho it seems like it is not working as a Front end server and when I try to enable it as front-end, I get the following error mess:

quote:

You can not designate this server as a front end server because this is the only server in the organisation.

ID no: c1034a0c
Exchange System Manager

I think this might be the source of the problem. How or Can I enable an exchange server to front -end with only one server in my domain?

Hiya Wizzler, unfortunately you cannot have a single Exchange server in your Organisation and have it as the FES server as well as a database server. You will need a minimum of two.
I am assuming that you are referring to the configuration that you have at home.

Have you considered configuring a Virtual Server?

Cheers

So you believe that I can't use exchange server fully out until I setup a front end and a back end server?

I've never really used VS before. This basically lets me run two sessions of Windows Server simultaniously on one machine?

Yep that's the sum of it.
Again, if this is your home situation that you are talking about, and the home machine can handle it you could install Virtual server and create a FES to give you the functionality.

Cheers
