I have a distribution list that sends to 2 internal address and 1 out side e-mail address. The two internal address get the mail with out a problem but the one going to the outside never gets it. I am at a loss to know why it isn't getting sent out. Does any one know where I can look for the logs so I can see what is going on.

The way I set this up was I created a user that has a e-mail address that points off of the server. Added that user to the distribution list. Is this the correct way to do this? Any suggetsions would be great.

Yep, setting up a contact in AD with an external address and then adding it to a distribution list is fine :)

As a start to diagnosing this go into the ESM and look at your 'Queues', more than likely you'll find one there for the domain of your exterbal contact. Highlight it and look at the very bottom of the ESM and you'll be given a status message, report back what that says.

Also if you're an admin it may be worthwhile enabling logging on your SMTP Virtual Server, select all of the logging options, and see if you can find anythign wrong there :)
