We have 2 exchange servers a frontend in the DMZ and a backend in the network. Currently when mails coming in they go to a spam filtering in the DMZ then passed to the exchange in the DMZ before going on to the backend exchange.

When sending out they go to the backend and straight out of the network.. Now we have put an additional spam filter box in the DMZ to filter outgoing mails. I need to change the outgoing route of mail to go to the Exchange in the DMZ then to the filter box in the DMZ..

How can I accomplish this?

You will have to create a connector for outboud routing and define that Exchange in the DMZ in the smart host setting like [x.x.x.x] where x is the IP, then configure the address space and cost for the connector. Good Luck
