MHDC_Chris -> Wildcard Certificate Status Invalid (26.Apr.2008 10:03:33 AM)

Dear All,

I have installed a 3rd party wildcard certificate on to my Exchange 2007 box using the MMC which also involved adding a new trusted root authority and also an intermediate authority.  I haven't attempted to run the 'Import-ExchangeCertificate' but OWA seems happy that the certificate is valid.

Problem is when I run Get-ExchangeCertificates cmdlet the wildcard certificate status is 'invalid' - I am also unable to Enable-ExchangeCertificate for the UM service (it looks like it has run correctly but then running Get-ExchangeCertificate again confirms that nothing has changed).

Any help would be most appreciated because I need to get this Exchange machine talking to OCS next week.

Many thanks.

Chris

You should really create the cert request through powershell, then import it and finally enable it for the services you require.

follow this: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/mobility-client-access/securing-exchange-2007-client-access-server-3rd-party-san-certificate.html

works a treat!

Just an FYI, but Wildcard certificates do not work with Exchange Active Sync.
