mvalpreda -> Mount Public Folder from another server on new server? (13.May2008 3:02:34 PM)

I have an instance where an Exchange 2003 server was migrated to a new one and since had Exchange 2003 removed from the old server. I thought I replicated everything, but a couple of public folders did not move over.

I have the pub1.edb and pub1.stm files from the old server. Can I mount those on the new server and extract the data? Or extract it offline?

These two servers were in the same forest and part of the same Exchange organization.

hi mate,

First thing your site folder server  has been set to your new server if not then
Run guidgen
http://www.petri.co.il/forums/showthread.php?t=2790

Now coming to your point...

Either you can bring the old server back online and replicate it or else your can bring another server with same server name and mount the PF and then replicate.

Extraction of data possiblities is there but it will loose the permission : that is create a recovery server of the same old server and pulling out the data into pst (will loose single instance) and creating a new folder in the new server moving that pst and then reseting the permission, for recovering permission you can go with pfdavadmin i guess.
