entropy1980 -> Issues with Forms and Public folders (15.May2008 12:54:08 PM)

I am having lots of trouble with Forms. When I try and update content from EMC on SP1 I get the following error:

Sembee -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 7:47:56 AM)

The obvious question has to be is do you have a Org Forms system folder on the server and does it have a replica listed? Did you migrate from an Exchange 2003 system? If so, did you migrate the system folders?

Simon.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 9:06:24 AM)

Yes it is from a 2k3 migration. I believe the systems folders were migrated however it was over a year ago so it's a little hard to remember. The strange thing is I can't replicate any PFs between the 2 exchange 2007 servers I have. They all give similar errors. Any ideas? We don't use PFs for anything other than Free+Busy and OAB, can I try and blow them out and just recreate?

Sembee -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 1:07:59 PM)

Do you get the same errors on both servers? If you are having problems with replication then that needs to be looked at. Are both servers listed as replicas on the properties of the system folders?

Simon.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 1:10:38 PM)

When I try and add them both as replicas I get the following error:

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 5:50:16 PM)

Any ideas at all? I am really stuck I can't get PFs to replicate at all between my CAS and Mailbox servers. No if's and's or but's it just will not work.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 6:42:35 PM)

Here's another example when I run update on one of my OABs:

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
Action 'Update Content' could not be performed on object '/o=First Organization/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=DefaultOAB'.

Sembee -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (16.May2008 8:18:39 PM)

0x8004010f means can't find.
The other errors also tend to indicate the same thing.
Something is wrong with the public/system folders.

You could consider resetting the system folders.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 10:54:19 AM)

Ok semi-stupid question...

Do I use the same new GUID to replace both the OAB and the System folder? Or do i need to generate 2 seperate GUIDs one for OAB and one for system?

Thanks!

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 11:20:38 AM)

Strange... when i run the following powershell cmdlets:

Get-publicfolder -recurse |fl name,replicas
and
Get-public folder \non_ipm_subtree |fl name, replicas

I show NO replicas. nada. zilch.

Name     : NON_IPM_SUBTREE
Replicas : {}

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 11:46:19 AM)

Every 5 minutes I am getting a couple errors in logs now:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Public Store
Event Category: Replication Errors
Event ID: 3092
Date:  5/19/2008
Time:  8:43:45 AM
User:  N/A
Computer: Exserver1
Description:
Error 1129 occurred while processing a replication event.
Folder: (a-7) NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 12:32:02 PM)

Managed to fix the 3092 error. Still no replicas for System Folders even after resetting. After I reset them I restarted store and exchange services but still no go....

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 2:24:35 PM)

Ok frustrated!!! I have nothing in Public Folders other than free+busy.... can I just wipe them and recreate? Following this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201664(EXCHG.80).aspx

and

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123687(EXCHG.80).aspx
?

Sembee -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 4:47:31 PM)

get-publicfolders never shows anything.
Try get-publicfolderstatistics if you want to see something.

I haven't tried the wipe and replace method for public folders, so do not know how Exchange 2007 will react to that. You may well have to use that article in combination with the one that I have posted. The same GUID will work fine for both system folders in my experience.

Simon.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 4:58:12 PM)

When I run Get-PublicfoldersStatistics the servers lists do not match one server has like 20 items the other has 3.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 5:24:28 PM)

Here's something strange when i open the OAB in ADSIEDIT there is no SiteFolderGuid property. Strange!?

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (19.May2008 10:28:43 PM)

Ok so the strangeness continues:

-I completely removed Public Folders both user and System. I couldn't remove them via cmdlet it kept error-ring. I ended up remocing using ADSIEDIT.

-After removing checked for changes to be replicated through forest

-rebooted both Exchange servers

-recreated new PF Database on Server1
-recreated new PF Database on Server2

- Still cannot replicate..... if I attempt from GUI I get an error saying :

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error

Error:
Cannot start content replication against public folder '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\EFORMS REGISTRY\Organizational Forms' on public folder database 'EXServer1\Public Folders\Public Folder DB'.

Sembee -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (20.May2008 2:35:27 PM)

80004005 is usually a permissions error. However I haven't seen it with Exchange 2007, and wouldn't know where to start. I would probably be considering a call to Microsoft if it was me.

Simon.

entropy1980 -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (20.May2008 2:46:19 PM)

On the phone with them now... not much help from them either... :(

rfranks -> RE: Issues with Forms and Public folders (27.Jan.2009 9:54:17 AM)

Did you ever get a fix for this? I'm having the exact same problems as you and can't seem to find any articles with an actual fix.
