RSquared -> Lost Ex Attributes in AD Users and Computers (23.May2008 1:19:28 PM)

I have lost the Exchange Attributes in AD Users and Computers how can I restore them?

Currently, I have an Exchange 2000 installation with a 2003 PDC.

I lost the Exchange Attributes when my previous PDC a Windows 2000 server bit the dust and didn’t exit the domain gracefully. Everything is working just fine at this point I just don’t have the Exchange Attributes in AD Users and Computers.

I am assuming I can run the Exchange /ForestPrep and /DomainPrep to restore the Exchange Attribute objects in AD Users and Computers but I need some advice as I am not really comfortable with Exchange.

The second part of my question is I am going to be migrating to Exchange 2007 on a 2008 server (as soon as my [:@]*#$&*# [:'(] SP1 replacement disk arrives from Microsoft – since Exchange 2007 RTM does not run on 2008 - good grief!  Sorry for the commentary)

Should I just wait and run the standard /Prepare switches with Exchange 2007 (/PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions, /PrepareSchema, /PrepareAD, /PrepareDomain) and will that restore the missing the Exchange Attribute objects in AD Users and Computers once the migration is complete?

Thanks!

Robert

Hi,

You just install exchange management tools and you get the lost "exchange
attributes" again (did you check aduc on the exchange server?)
