Apperrault -> Help creating a Receive Connector (30.May2008 10:18:43 AM)

Hi everyone,
I am in a bind here.  We are in the process of decommissioning the Exchange 2003 server in our Active Directory, and the last step is change the server that our IronPort mail appliance delivers the mail to.  I have tried just changing the IP address from the old exchange 2003 server to the IP address of our Exchange 2007 server, but that is not working.  I am getting the following message when i try and send email from outside the organization:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'5.7.1 Client was not authenticated'

I assume that i need to create a new receive connector, but it doesnt
appear that is working either.

Can anyone give me some pointers here. I currently have the two default
receive connectors defined, the Client and the default.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. i am under a deadline here
and i am starting to get a little worried.

thanks much

aaron

I answered this for you on another forum, so just for anyone who looks at this question here instead of there...

Simply adjust the default receive connector to enable anonymous. It isn't enabled automatically as Microsoft expect you to have an Edge server that receives the email. After making the change you need to restart the Exchange Transport Service for the change to take effect.
