I've just been asked a question about sharing calendars.  One of my managers wants to share his calendar for the secretary but doesn't want her to see where he is going, just that he's busy.

So far we've altered the permissions on the calendar to Create Items, Folder Visible and Delete and Edit Own, but the calendar shows as blank.  If we select Read, then the items appear but give the details of where he is, what he wants is blank boxes to show he is busy.

I've altered the Free/Busy data permissions to Editor, but I'm guessing this only works under the scheduling assistant.

Can anyone advise please

The manager needs to use the Private option on the calendar entry. That will hide the item from anyone else with permissions to the folder. You cannot use permissions to hide the content of the items - all permissions do is restrict access to the folder.

Simon.
