Hi,

I recenty added Direct File Access to our Exchange 2007 SP1 server.  Everything is working great, but when I open up a file through OWA, I try to make a change then save it back, I'm receiving this message:

"Your changes could not be saved to 'filename.xls' because of a sharing violation.  Try saving to a different file."

Then I get some other messages, etc...

I understand this file opens up as a temp file on my local hard drive, but how to I open the file "Live", make changes on the fly, then save it back?

I'm using Office 2007 also.  Any ideas?

You're not supposed to be able to save them back, it's working fine.

Thanks for the reply.  That answers my question.

Any word if Write/Modify access will be added in future updates/service packs?  To me, it seems very limited as read-only access.

ISA2006 enables you to write to file shares. Haven't set it up and this forum isn't the right place to ask further so I'd encourage you to ask on isaserver.org.

I haven't seen anything about making the shares writable in OWA in future releases.
