myk3 -> Decommision Old exchange server Public folders (3.Jul.2008 12:18:20 PM)

Hi all,

i have replicated all the public folders from the old server and this has also copied the SMTP email address of each public folder.

to test everything is ok i dismount the OLD exchange servers Public store.

then send a test from hotmail address to one of the public folders email addresses.

i find that this is not delivered to the new servers public folder, instead it is queued on the old server, which then would replicate after the set time.

question:
i know how to remove all the replicas using pfmigrate from the OLD server for the system folders and all public folders.
but how can i make any mailenabled public folders deliver directly to the new exchange server public store rather than to the old one and letting it wait for replication to occur until the changes are copied to the new server.

thanks
mike

hi all,
i sorted the issue, very silly really i was rushing things and not thinking.

all mail that goes to these servers is rounted from our HQ in london. i forgot to change the ip address of the smart host to the new server in the smtp connector for this domain!

all sorted now!
