I am trying to setup a connection between an Exchange 2007 server and a Sharepoint 2007 server to allow users to send emails directly to sharepoint document libraries and calendars. I am having some success but am stuck at one point. I have an smtp send connector setup between Exchange 2007 and the smtp server running on the Sharepoint box. I can email to the document library by selecting from the GAL. When I try to select email to the calendar from the GAL the email never gets put in Sharepoint. If I manually type the email address assocaiated with the calendar it does get added. In both cases I can see the email hitting the "drop" folder on the Sharepoint server. There are eno ndr's, the email just disappears. There is also a 2003 Exchange server in the mix that controls the GAL.

I know this is a rather specific question but I thought some others must be using Sharepoint in this way. Any thoughts vey much appreciated.

Maybe this will help someone out and I am not quite sure why this is working or not working but I was using an Outlook2007 client not in cached mode. As a test I tried it with another profile using cached mode and it added the appointment correctly to the calendar in Sharepoint.

Anyone have any ideas why cached mode works but non cache mode does not for calendars? Very odd.
