I'm unable to view a second account on my Outlook. I'm using 2007 and the exchange server is 2003. I've added the account on my Outlook, I've also added full Mailbox rights via Active Directory. I'm pretty sure that's all I've needed to check in the past. The error I get when I try and open the added mailbox is "Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found." I've also created a new account to try this with and I get the same error. Although the mailbox does exist in the store. I've also tried removing the SELF and readding the SELF from the Mailbox Rights (although this was posted as a solution for exchange2000, I thought I would give it a shot.) also didn't resolve the issue. Although I'll keep looking for a solution I'm all ears to any ideas. Thanks a ton.

How long did you wait after making the permission change? Exchange caches permissions, therefore access can fail. Are the mailboxes hidden? Simon.

It has been a few hours and still unable to access it after the permissions change. The box is not hidden. I'm able to see them in the Global Address List (if that's what your asking).

Exactly what permissions did you set? To open an additional mailbox you only need Full Mailbox Access, nothing else. Simon.

This actually points to the problem. Under full access, Allow and Deny is checked. Both grey and unable to modify. This is also true for the Admin account. When I try and remove my account now I get the following error...boggle. You cannot remove "Bobby Brown" because this object is inheriting permissions from its parent. To remove "Boby Brown", you must prevent this object from inheriting permissions. Turn off the option for inheriting permissions, and try removing "Bobby Brown" again. I've tried searching for where I can modify the permissions for myself or Admin but couldn't find a place to do so. Also, where would I remove inheritable permissions? I've double checked the Exchange System Manager and the delegate control. Admins and myself have full access. Any ideas, suggestions? I'm open! Thanks.

Deny overrides permit. Administrators have an explicit deny as default. You will have to go back up through the tree to see where the inheritance is taking place - so Store, Storage Group, Server, Org. Simon.

Thank you again for your reply. So I went to the Mailbox Store, properties, Security, Advanced and removed Allow Inheritable. Then I removed and re-added myself. I then went to the users account and attempted to do the same thing. Again however I get the Bobby Brown message (as above). So I went to my account and there was the same error. Full Controll was checked for allow and deny. But none of the other admin accounts are like this. I'm going to blow out my account alltogether and recreate it to see if that resolves the issue. I'll post any solutions in case somebody else may find it usefull.
