I have a client who uses Outlook 2007, and all new emails are being delivered to the Unread Mail folder, instead of the Inbox. When she opens the email for the first time, it then appears in the Inbox and is removed from Unread Mail. Can anyone tell me how to change this so new emails just show up in her Inbox like normal? There is no rule set in her Outlook, so I don't know why mail is not being delivered to her Inbox. Thanks

Sorry, but there is no such thing as the Unread Mail folder. Yes, there's a folder you can see called that but it's just a manifestation of the search parameter, you can't have mail delivered to it directly. There's some rule going on somewhere.

The only rule that is setup, is the built-in rule called "clear categories on mail". From what I understand, this is something that Outlook 2007 automatically sets up. I understand now that Unread Mail isn't a real folder, and mail can't be "delivered" there...but the problem still persists. Any new email only shows up in this Unread Mail folder, and does not show up in the Inbox.

Yeah, I'd suggest you closed the Outlook and used OWA to check behaviour, just in case there is something odd at the back-end. The server should just deliver to an inbox and leave it at that. If that's ok try set up a profile on a PC with a lower client (OL 2003 perhaps). If you can't then no prob, just do the same (different PC) with OL 2007. I'm all-but certain this is a local issue rather than anything server-side.

Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a try. I agree it's most definitely a client issue.
