Hi all,

I have difficult issue to resolve. My event viewer keeps showing me following errors:

Event Type:    Warning
Event Source:    BlackBerry Messaging Agent HO-SAL-EXC1 Agent 1
Event Category:    None
Event ID:    20530
Date:        07/08/2008
Time:        14:25:52
User:        N/A
Computer:    HO-SAL-EXC1
Description:
{test@mail.co.uk} ConstructPIMFolder - Failed to open the memo folder for user (0x80040107)

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    MSExchangeFBPublish
Event Category:    General
Event ID:    8207
Date:        07/08/2008
Time:        15:56:52
User:        N/A
Computer:    HO-SAL-EXC1
Description:
Error updating public folder with free-busy information on virtual machine HO-SAL-EXC1. The error number is 0x8004010f.

For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

I found this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284200/en-us and followed this instruction. But still in my Public Folder Store I can't see Free/Busy folder. Has someone experienced similar issue? How to recreate this folder in Exchange?

Also I noticed that command outlook /cleanfreebusy is giving me following info:
"Unable to clean your free/busy information on Server".

Additionally few weeks ago I had to reinstall Server and Exchange, then I recovered email boxes from backup. My network is including 2 servers + 15 pc's:
FILE server - DC, AD, DNS, DHCP
MAIL server - DC, EXCHAGNE
I'm not sure but probably FILE server still has some remains information from previous MAIL server.

Any help appreciated :)

Hi,

Thank you for your advice. I have already done this, still no luck and same issue occurs in event viewer. Any other idea what might be the solution?

Kind regards
Lukasz

Lukasz,

I found the same issue as you have. This person fixed it by mail disabling the free/busy-folder and then reenable it. Could you try this ?

Hi,

You have to go to the system manager in Exchange 2003 and the you should open the organization and server below there should be the first storage group and below that are the public folder and the mailbox database. Then expand the public folder and choose the one you have issues with.

I tried to disable and enable Free/Busy Folder in outlook and it didn't work. I'm still receiving following msg in Event Viewer:
(emailaddress@mydomain.co.uk) ConstructPIMFolder - Failed to open the memo folder for user (0x80040107).

Any other idea what might be a reason and how to resolve it?

Googling what your issue is gave me this solution:

Open outlook on your PC or user PC (to establish a MAPI session) with one of the affected users in questions. Once you do, make sure you don't have it running in cache mode. Then, run the following command "outlook /resetfolders" from the run prompt on your PC, a new outlook windows should open up. Then, open the BB mgr console, highlight the user > Account > Reload user

Also, read link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-admin-corner/148624-constructpimfolder-failed-open-memo-folder-user.html

Another set of solution proposed:

remove user from BES
Close Outlook on users machine
run Outlook with /resetfolders switch
Add user back to BES
reactivate device

Can we try to work with a brand new mailbox for the affected user - you can definitely ExMerge the old data out into PST - however if this issue works out with a brand new mailbox - there was definitely something messy with the old one.

This plan is worth giving a try - if this is not acceptable - you should open a call with RIM Team and update us with their finding.
