Hi,

Thanks for that... I should have been clearer. It is for a Distribution list, not a dynamic distrbution list. I alos need to export the data not just view... I know I can view it in the Management console, but I need to do it in powershell.

I tried to modify the shell command in that technet article and the first one worked without error

$MarketingDepartment = Get-DistributionGroup -Identity "Marketing Department"

but the second one:

Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $MarketingDepartment.RecipientFilter

returns this error:

[PS] C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop>Get-Recipient -R
ecipientPreviewFilter $MarketingDepartment.RecipientFilter
Get-Recipient : The argument cannot be null or empty.
At line:1 char:38
+ Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter  <<<< $MarketingDepartment.RecipientFilter

Can anyone help with getting this info extracted??

Thanks

Charlie

Try to grab the 'Powershell commands for Active Directory;

They will allow you to query Distro groups and Security groups and send to file etc.

It's an alternative way; I'm not sure about the other way as i wasn't successful.

You can find my post somewhere in the forum.

take care.

Get-DistributionGroup | Get-DistributionGroupMember | Export-CSV C:\data.csv

Hi,

I am also trying to export distribution list data. I also need to pull the names of anyone with 'writeproperty' per list. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex
