my SMTP is working fine as i am using the same SMTP for both the Exchange .
I an using Smart Host for sending external emails.

i also tried to sort out errors in Additional Queue Information

The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.
The remote SMTP service rejected AUTH negotiation.
Destination server does not exist.

It seems that the move mailbox wasnt entirely successful and there was a stub object left behind on the source server. This does happen usually and can cause issues.

Check if the user who's mailbox was moved is able to access his mailbox. If there is some issue, move the user back to the old server it will fail and delete the stub.

If this doesnt work then try running the "Clean-up agent" and delete the stub object.

Also check the following Q article which might help:

A stub object is left behind in the source database for certain users after a move mailbox operation is complete in Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2

shrry8,

How things going ?

I was thinking to force renaming my hostname with ip address for my new server. I figure out that my old server got a mail relay,
and also public ip, which already listed in my firewall and also in my DNS server.

And then i will test all incoming/outgoing sending receiving email for the new server again. Recheck all configuration to make it all identical
like my old exchange server.

I let u know if this things work or didnt work :)

Gixxer,

things are not going as plan on my side i am still stuck with the connectivity issues. I have already checked all the configuration of Old Server and configured the same settings in new server but still getting errors in nslookup and tracert

I have test run move mailbox and it is successfull. So, i guess it wont create a problem in future while i will be moving Mailboxes.

My local send/receive emails are working but external are not working

Gixxer,

Suddenly, my Old Exchange Server crashes which i knew it would happen some day to me....

after that i have tested my new Exchange 2003 server with local/external mails on both sending and receiving and it worked good with me.

But now my old Exchange is down and new is up. My users in AD is not showing Exchange tab's in properities of users. any guess how to get them back for new server. ??

My new server is still the member of my old server. If i made my new server to Master will all Exchange tab's get back or i need some other tunnings

------

At last i managed to up my server again. But cant relie on it now soo have to move all my mailboxes ASAP.

Gixxer, while i will be moving my Mailboxes to new Server is that anyway i can restrict users not to use Exchnage Web Interface and Outlook so that they cannot send or receive emails for those 4-5 hours.

One thing more. How will i be able to see address list in Exchange which i know generates automatically when new user is created. Do i need to check anything so it get populated after i moved all my mailboxes.

i have done the following uptil now

Rehome the Offline Address Book folder
Change the server that is responsible for generating the Offline Address List
Rehome the Schedule+ Free Busy folder

In Rehome the Offline Address Book folder, when i verified whether my Offline Address Book is replicated or not then it shows me
Old Server     In Sync
New Server   Local Modified

i m confused whether it is replicated or not

Hi shrry8,

Did u ever use netstat and tracert on old server ? Try to make the comparison, see what are the things
u left behind?

But now my old Exchange is down and new is up. My users in AD is not showing Exchange
tab's in properities of users. any guess how to get them back for new server. ??

Did you join the domain? Or try to restart the AD server, see if this thing works..

Gixxer, while i will be moving my Mailboxes to new Server is that anyway i can restrict users not to use Exchnage Web Interface and Outlook
so that they cannot send or receive emails for those 4-5 hours.

If you using OWA, try to disable the virtual exchange server in ESM, or try to stop IIS services or maybe if your have SSL services as well

One thing more. How will i be able to see address list in Exchange which i know generates automatically when new user is created. Do i need
to check anything so it get populated after i moved all my mailboxes.

For me, i only concern with the mailbox, and also for them to change their password in their OWA

Gixxer,

Well finally, i have moved all my mailboxes to New Server. Local and External emails are working fine.

Although i am Enterprise Admin of Exchange i cannot access mailboxes of all the users means i can just access my own mailbox. I have also check the security tab in properities of First Store but didnt found anything wrong there. I do have full mailbox rights but still i am not getting access.

One thing more i am using GFI Mail Essential for downloading POP emails from my POP Account.

In local delivery queue, there is a huge list of Postmaster emails which are not delivered after 45 minutes and is increasing in local delivery queue. This should be delivered to the receiptient or it should be discard if its not from my domain. Can you guide me where am i wrong.

shrry8,

I have make terrible mistake on migrating on new hardware with the same hostname and ip address.

I unplugged the old server and put it to a new server, which i make all the configuration like hostname
and ip address exactly the same, join to the domain, i check with my ESM Queues, and i dont see just like
my old server, its more worst than i never expect, and i try to figure out why is the services is down.
When i try to start back the service, it doesnt work. When i google it, it says that something to do with SID
doesnt match with the server.

I start to disconnect the new server, and return back to the old server. Now, the second problem comes in, my
old exchange didnt work normally, i assume is because the AD Server is using the new SID exchange server. So i
remove/delete the hostname/object from the AD server, Unjoin from the domain, uninstall the CA Authority certificate,
and later, join it back to domain, and installing back the CA

If you want to try this out, its up to you, i need to find another solution again.
