Defaulting to "Contacts - Public Folder" - 16.Dec.2008 6:08:15 PM

Hello,

Is there any way to have Outlook 2003 client open the shared contacts (ie: "Contacts - Public Folder") instead of the "personal" contacts when a user clicks on the big "Contacts" icon underneath the "Calendar" icon? I know it sounds silly, but I have a user who's very frustrated because she has to click twice to get to the shared contacts in the public folder I've set up with contacts. The same goes when creating contacts. It should, by default, add the contact to the public folder, not the contacts within the user's own Outlook client.

Is this doable?

TIA

Short answer - no.
While you can change Contacts lists around, change the first view, but the behaviour of Contacts within Outlook for buttons, new Contacts etc cannot be changed to another folder. It will always default to the personal contacts folder.

Simon.
