vv -> Public Folder Storage on Front-End Server? (8.Jan.2009 12:34:54 PM)

We are planning on implementing a Front-End server for SMTP services and for  single instance Public Folder storage. We have two other Exchange 2k3 back-end servers and do NOT need any of the replication functionality of PFs.

Is this possible? Can you have PFs exist on a Front-End server?

No, they cannot. I would suggest you do have a replica of at least the Free/Busy on each server to prevent your one PF being overloaded.

Great - thanks for the conclusive response!

Good point on the Free/Busy as well.

Hi ,

We have to ensure no users or mailboxes resides on the front end server.
Also an article to support.
