Hi all, I have 2 x Exchange 2007 servers (all updates): EXMBX1 = mailbox only EXPUB1 = Mailbox, Hub, CAS We have an internal system that resolves http://expub1/exchange for users. We are in a co-exist environment with EX2003. 2003 clients get redirected to their own server ok (no problem), 2007 clients are also redirected correctly to http://exmbx1/exchange but they are presented with a 401. if you explicitly put http://exmbx1/owa then fine, but this won't help us. I have managed to ascertain the problem is with IIS authentication on exmbx1, but the cloesest I have got to fixing is to enable basic authentication. this gives the 2007 users a login prompt, which will then get them in (again this wont work for the system). I have disabled SSL (for now) Any help much appreciated. Pete

Can you find the 401 response recorded in your IIS log file?

Thanks for replying Lee, I have fixed it (after 2 days) - I think the reason I could not find any help was because it was a rare issue that probably had something to do with my install. For some reason the ISAPI.DLL in IIS had got 'disabled'?!?!? re-enabled it (at the root site level) and all works a treat! Thanks again. Pete.

Really sorry, this post is pretty misleading! I forgot a bit in the middle... The 401 was fixed by removing, then re-adding the virtual directorys (owaVirtualDirectory). After this I was getting 403 (file not found)... this was caused by the IMAPI.dll being disabled. sorry. Pete.
