Hi all, I have a in house exchange server 2007 and face an error when sending email to one particular domain, however we can receiving the email from that particular domain. I checked SMTP diagnostic, MX lookup and blcaklists on our and their domain name. did not see any errors and both domain have REV DNS (PTR) record. Also able to telnet 25 on both exchange server. most likely the issue on our end. Here is the error message: #550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ## any idea deeply appreciated Thanks, Cyberlei

Cyberlie, Did you check the helo/ehlo which is send when connecting to the other mailserver ? Can you post the piece of SMTP logging ?

I used telnet to test SMTP communication mail from: test@mydomain.com 250 2.1.0 Sender ok . RCPT TO:test@theirdomain.com 550 5.7.1 unable to relay

Hi, Please enable smtp logging: - open the EMC - select the HUB server - select the send connector - set the logging level to verbose Reproduce the issues and set the logging level back to the original level and post the log here.

Hi, It looks like it some kind of DNS configuration issue on your side: Recipient address rejected: Valid DNS required on connecting IP Can you send me a private message with your domainname ? Then I can check somethings.

Hi, I've checked you settings but it looks like their is something strange with your PTR record. Some DNS servers give a good reply while others are not. Did you changed it a few hours ago ? If so please wait 48 hours and try again to send mail to the specified domain.

no, I did not change anything on my end yet, I was talking to their domain admin and working with them for resolving the issue PS: Can I PM you for one PTR record question Thanks Cyberlei

Hi All, The issue has been resolved by contact ISP to create PTR record pointing your WAN IP address If you don't know your WAN IP address, simply go to www.whatismyip.com Thanks, Cyberlei
