unjoss -> smarthost routing not work (28.Jul.2009 12:52:09 PM)

Hi, I'm having a problem with exchange 2k3. I configured the right smarthost but does not take the config.  The app log displays this message:

SMTP GetNextHop returned hr=0x0 in 0ms.
DestAddr=<hibrite.com>, Type=<SMTP>
MsgType=0x2, NextHopType=OTHER_ROUTING_GROUP
Type=<SMTP>, Class=<hibrite.com>, SchedId=0xffffffff
RouteAddr=<hibrite.com>
Connector=<DNS>

It seems it is routing somehow but I already check the routing groups - connector and it is empty ..   where else can be routing configured ?   thanks in advance.

Where did u smart host to?
in DSMTPVS or on the SMTP connector
and what is the smart host?

VijayaRelangovan:  I did it in both sides. First in DSMTPVS no conector configured, weird stuff is always have worked fine that way.   Since suddenly did not work with the smart host I created the connector according the documentation and neither worked.

Smarthost points to my ISP mail gateway with basic authentication. As I've said the sending emails thorugh smarthost was working fine. Now it looks like the exchange has another config (dunno where) that tells it to send the email through another server.

Thanks.

It is possible the exchange server was "rootkited" ??  no matter what I do, connector or smarthost,,, it sends the messages trough a local linux sendmail server.

part of the smtp logs shows:

What is that other server?  Is it an Exchange server?  Are the messages delivered?

The other server is sendmail acting as mail gateway.  However past saturday I ran the internet mail wizard on the exchange server and was able to "force" to route the messages trough my ISP mail server.

Still I think the exchange server installation could be damaged I'll do a backup and then make a fresh install instead.

Thanks.
