Hi Guys,

I really need some help with the setup Im doing. Im running SBS 2008 and have a domain registered (www.nerd4hire.com.au) and to make matters fun (not) I have a dynamic IP address so I have setup a noip free address (nerd4hire.no-ip.org).

My domain is registered with netregistry and my hosting company is servage.net.

This is what Im having trouble understanding:

How would I go about setting up my mx records? Do I do this from the hosting company or the company where I purchased the domain name from? And where to I point the mx record to?

Do I need to setup A records (not sure how as I dont have a static IP address)?

After this what must I do on the Exchange side of things?

Thanks for any help

Hi Nerd4hire,
if you have a dynamic IP your MX record will need to be registered with no-ip.org (the same company you have your dynamic up address configured). The dynamic ip will have to point to your server.
Your 'A record' is the record you already dynamically configured by no-ip.org.

The last question depends, have you done any configuration of the exchange server?

Hi Mavog,

So your saying that the mx record needs to be registered with NoIP and not with the hosting company?

Your MX to point at an IP.
Your IP is dynamic.
NoIP tracks dynamic IP changes.
What services does your hosting company provide?
What are the plans for your SBS?
