I have a connector set with a Smart host . Now, I have messages stuck in the "Messages with an unreachable destination' queue, but I'm unable to force connection to re-send these messages. I already tried to restart the SMTP service but no luck.
I have deleted the Outbound connector create a new one, Shut down both Server one node after another one, And restart them one by one. still no luck .
I can not restart Default MSTP Virual Server, because our Exchange is in cluster

We are in Afrca, Congo Brazzaville and it is very difficult to get support.

Please I will appreciate if some one can Help me.

Kind Regards

Milos,

Which mails are stuck in the queue are this mails from existing users to existing domains?

To check if the smarthost correctly try to connect to it via telnet:

telnet smarthost.domain.com 25

And check if you can connect to it.
Also give a more detailed description of your environment such as Exchange version etc.

Dear JVELDH,

We have two Exchange 2003 Servers runing on Cluster mode, With Smart Host configured on Outbound Connector. It Was working fine for last Two years.
For unknown raison, All Outbount Messages stuck on ''Messages with an unreachable destiantion'' folder on Queue viewer.

I can telnet our smart host on port 25, delete and recreate a new connector, Shut down both nodes, and restart them one by one. Stil no luck.

I wiil appreciate if you could take me out from this.

I am in Africa, Congo Brazzaville and there is no support.

Milos,

OK that's strange. Please run the Exbpa or Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant to investigate the issue further.

Can you also post a screenshot of the queue ?

I cannot attached any file, i dont have sufficient permission for that, But see below what Message Tracking Center says about outbound message:
- SMTP Store Drive: Message Submited from Store
- SMTP:Message Submited to Advance Queuing
- SMTP: Started Message Submission to a Advance Queue
- SMTP: Message Submited to Categorizer
-SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for Routing
- SMTP: Message Routed and Queued for remote Delivery

Hope It can help you on diagnostic.

Rgd,

Hi,

That looks OK the routing goes OK and it is placed in the correct queue. Try to enable smtp logging and post a piece of that logging here.

What happens when you route the mail directly without a smart host?
