I'm finally removing my exchange 2003 server off line.  I have one legacy mailbox left, it is the Administrator.  Should I move this mailbox?

In order to remove any legacy exchange server, all mailboxes must be moved\deleted. So with that being said, I would recommend that the mailbox be moved over and not deleted since I assume it was the account used to do the installation of exchange and it is probably the postmaster account as well.

Thanks for your help.

We had some issues with a few corrupted mailboxes which would not move and   some legacy email addresses with  _  in the address.  In fixing these problems we removed the routing between the two boxes and moved over the public and offline address book.  The 2003 server is still on line, I have not fully removed it from our network.  My question is can I still move the administator mailbox or is there another way to get the mailbox over to the 2007 server without deleting the user?

If you are talking about the built-in administrator account, then you will not be able to delete the account anyways! A mailbox move has nothing to do with mail routing. Have you even tried moving the mailbox to E2K7??? If not then go ahead and give it a try. If you are facing problems moving the mailbox then why not just remove exchange attributes from the administrator account (Note: If there are any special email addresses on the account, make a note of them before this task is done!). Removing the attributes will disconnect the mailbox from the user account. You can then purge the mailbox on E2K3 and create a new mailbox for the administrator on E2K7.
