jacksors79 -> Create mailbox that does not accept replies - serivce account (3.Nov.2009 7:18:15 AM)

We have some applications that require the ability to send email to users using a generic no-reply email address. What I did was setup a mailbox for them in Exchange 2007 and they application is then able to authenticate with the user/mailbox and send email. However, if the user replies to the email, the email will come back to the inbox of that account which is not monitored.

Whats the best way to set this up so that the application can still authenticate with the mailserver and send emails, but that the mailbox that sends the email will not accept any replies back from users so the mailbox does not fill up?

Thanks.

I would use transport rules to bounce the message if addressed to your no-reply account.

Excellent suggestion, I never would have thought of that. Thanks for the quick reply.

My current in place solution is to only accept messages from that mailbox user.
