Hello,

I've noticed the following error appearing in the System Logs of an Exchange 2007 server:

Event ID : 8207
Category : General
Source : MSExchangeFBPublish
Type : Error
Message : Error updating public folder with free/busy information on virtual machine <Exchange2007ServerName> . The error number is 0x80004005

The information was transferred from an Exchange 2003 server about a year ago.  (It was done by another company so I'm not sure how they went about doing it)

I have run the following command in the Exchange 2007 Shell:
get-publicfolder -Identity "\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY" -Recurse | fl name,Replicas

The result:

Name     : SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY
Replicas : {}

Name     : EX:/o=<Domain>/ou=<domain>
Replicas : {Public Folder Store (<Old Exchange 2003 Name>)}

Name     : EX:/o=<Domain>/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)
Replicas : {Public Folder Database}

The <Old Exchange 2003 Name> refers to the name of the server where the information store was migrated from, it no longer exists on the network.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the problem or how to fix it?

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem.

It was a dormant free busy folder from the old Exchange 2003 server. Fixed by adding a replica:

[PS] C:\>set-publicfolder -identity \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=Company/ou=First Administrative Group -replicas "public folder database"
