jwc -> Foward a Distrbution Group (25.Nov.2009 7:46:58 AM)

Hello

I have a Managerment Distrbution group with 7 people on the list. They have decided to rebrand the companny with a new managerment Distrbution group Is they any way of forwarding all mail from the old Distrbution group to the new Distrbution group?

Your query is quite confusing, however you cannot forward emails from a distribution group to a different distribution group. This functionality is available for individual mailboxes.

I believe the confusion is in your choice of the term forwarding.

For internal messages, you can simply rename the group. If they need to be separate, then add your new group as a member to your existing group. If you are talking about receiving messages from the outside, remove/change the SMTP address from the old group and add it as an alias to the new - that way both the old and new addresses will work. Outside senders cannot see what your group name is, so it won't matter to them what the group is called in your Global Address List. You can combine the two if desired (rename and have both SMTP addresses associated to it).
