This is failing the domain/forest/schema prep for exchange 2010
Cant even add a 2nd exchange 2007 server due to the same error so assuming something is missing in AD. But what?

Hi,
I recommend to first run dcdiag and netdiag to investigate your current environment.
Are there any error logs seen in the event log of your dc's ?
