dekkar -> Outlook 2003 / Ex 2010 (21.Dec.2009 12:01:51 AM)

Hi All... I think I'm close to getting my new Ex 2010 server up and running....

I have managed to get it installed and all the server functions seem working... I can migrate mailboxes from our current 2003 server....

But when I go to configure the Outlook client, with server name and user name, it comes back with the error saying the server is not available.

IF I enter the username and the Ex2003 box as the server name, it automatically changes the server name to the 2010 one... so I presume it all knows that the 2010 server is there...

Is there some totally obvious crucial step I have missed that actually allows the server to accept clients??

Hi Dekkar,
Well this issue is one of the Exchange Srv. 2010 issues with Outlook 2003 connectivity. This issue occurs because RPC Client Access Encryption was enabled on the Exchange 2010 Stores and Outlook clients with not enabled to use Encryption in their profile.
The workaround for this issue (which in my case worked) it was the follow:
Encryption was disabled on the Exchange stores.
      Uncovering the new RPC Client Access Service in Exchange 2010 (Part 1)
      Uncovering the new RPC Client Access Service in Exchange 2010 (Part 2)

I hope this help you [:)]
