Hello Everybody,
This is probably a basic question but how do I set up my exchange 2010 box with the following DNS records. (new to Exchange). I am moving away from a Linux box, i'm using this scenario:
Internet Mail Flow Directly Through a Hub Transport Server following this link (based on what i read is not recommended)

This is how my live DNS look like
5 ig.mydomain.com. IP=

PTR record: anotherdomain.com. [TTL 43200s] [A=] --> Please note my PTR name is different than the actual

What do i need to configure on the send and receive connectors in order for this to match and have my email flow correctly.

Thank you for all the help!

It's the same procedure as for Exchange 2007. Take a look at this desciption by the MS Exchange Team at Redmond - Configuring Exchange 2007 Hub Transport role to receive Internet mail

Does your ISP allow SMTP (TCP/25) directly or must you go through a dedicated Smart Host? For Smart Host you have to make a Custom connector type since Internet is hard coded to deliver mail by DNS/MX.

And lastly, you might have to configure NAT/Port Forwarding in your External Firewall to allow and route mail to the Hub Transport Server.
