Hi,

We currently have a single domain Exchange 2007 server accepting mail sent to domA.com. We also have a separate domain, domB.com on another site running a non-Exchange mail server.

We would like to upgrade our domB.com mail server to Exchange and have mails sent to domB.com domain route through our existing Exchange server. We would also like to keep a copy of domB.com mails on our existing domA.com Exchange server, so that domB.com users can access their emails from either server.

To illustrate:

Exchange 1 (current) Exchange 2 (new)
domA.com (store)
domB.com (store and forward) ---------------------->> domB.com

I tried to do this by adding domB.com as an accepted internal relay domain on Exchange 1, and adding a send connector for that domB.com domain, but it seems that if a mailbox exists in Exchange 1 server, then the email does not get routed to the new Exchange server. However, if I remove/rename the domB.com mailbox on Exchange 1, it does get routed to the new Exchange server.

Any ideas? Do I need to set up some transfer rules?

Thanks

Alex

1. Create a Mail Contact and enter the name@domb.com as the External E-Mail Address.

2. Under the User Namebox properties of name@doma.com under Mail Flow Setting >> Delivery Options check the 'Forward to:' field and then browse for the Mail Contact you created in step 1.  Also Check 'Deliver message to both Forwarding address and mailbox'

Not ideal but the only way I have found to fork mail in 2007.  You should be able to script this pretty easily.
