During setup if I skip the step that says, "Configure Client Access server external domain name", what steps are required to do this after the fact?

Hi,

If you skip that the external url wouldn't be set. But when you open the Exchange Management Console, select server configuration followed by the CAS server you will get the option:
Configure External Client Access Domain
By selecting this option you will be able to set/change the external domain.

I did not even think to check that but there it is! Thanks. Is there an associated PowerShell command to run this?

Hi,

I thought you will need to run multiple commands but I will check it out and will be back to you with the answer.

You'll need to configure the following URLs for correct autodiscover functionality:

Set-OABVirtualDirectory {cas server}\OAB* -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/OAB

Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory {cas server}\EWS* -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx

Set-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory {cas server}\Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com

Thanks everyone for the info. Doing a little more testing I noticed that after running the "Configure External Client Access Domain" by right clicking Server Configuration>Client Access, it tells you the commands it runs. I have tweaked them a little to my environment but below is what I ran. (Keep in mind the lines are wrapped).

Set-OwaVirtualDirectory EX01\owa* -InternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/owa -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/owa -Exchange2003URL https://legacy.domain.com/exchange

Set-OabVirtualDirectory EX01\OAB* -InternalUrl http://mail.domain.com/OAB -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/OAB

Set-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory EX01\Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync* -InternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync –ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync

Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory EX01\ews* -InternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx

Set-EcpVirtualDirectory EX01\ecp* -InternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/ecp -ExternalUrl https://mail.domain.com/ecp

This promotional code by Shoebuy complements many women as much as they complement their business. By means of providing huge discounts on specific purchases, they are likely to encourage bulk sales and orders. The Not-so-internet-savvy individuals can also benefit from this wonderful opportunity.
