Hi,

I am struggling to get anon relay working on Exchange 2007 for our MFD's

I have created new receive connector.

Network tab

Local : All available IPv4 : 25
Remote : 10.97.0.0/16

Auth tab

Only TLS ticked

Permissions tab

Anonymous users

I have restarted the transport service but the MFD comes up with a error in doing the transfer

I have followed the following guides trying to get this to work:

http://www.petri.co.il/authenticated...hange-2007.htm
http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/20...28/432013.aspx

Plus a document sent to us by the company who manages our MFD's

Can someone help please

Thanks

Dave

TLS shouldn't be ticked, surely?

I have tried it with it ticked and unticked

Restarting the Exchange Transport service both times, but still no avail.

I have Client MAILSRV1, Default MAILSRV1, Multifunctions.

Both the Default and Client have the Remote Servers set to 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255 will this take precidnece over the multifunction address range which is 10.97.0.0/16 ??

This is really giving me problems as this issue is holding up the roll out of exchange

Ok we have found the problem but not sure how we can fix it.

On the default rule under specify the FQDN this connector will provide "MAILSRV1.domain.co.uk" and the MFD was trying to send to mail.domain.co.uk

If I try and change the FQDN to mail.domain.co.uk I get told

"
--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
The following error(s) occurred while saving changes:

set-receiveconnector
Failed
Error:
When the AuthMechanism parameter on a Receive connector is set to the value ExchangeServer, you must set the FQDN parameter on the Receive connector to one of the following values: the FQDN of the transport server "mailsrv1.domain.co.uk", the NetBIOS name of the transport server "MAILSRV1", or $null.

Any ideas how I can work round this problem?

Thanks

ok, Just to understand what is happening at the background.

1. Enable verbose logging on both the receive connector
2. And send few test emails
3. Check the SMTP Receive logs under /Transport Roles/Logs/

This log will tell you which receive connector is responding to the the incoming request.

Right I got it working, and I hold my hands up and its my own dumb ass fault.

Internally mail.domain.co.uk points to mailsrv3 which is our FBA CAS server it has no other roles other than being a CAS.

mailsrv1 is the HUB/MBX server, so of course you can see where I am going with this. When I tested stmp2.domain.co.uk pointed at mailsrv1 surprisingly it worked.

So thanks for the help
